Decoding (Pseudo)-Scalar Operators in Leptonic and Semileptonic B meson decays

Gilberto studied his Master studies in applied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Then, he did his PhD degree at the the University of Durham (United Kingdom), where he specialized on quark flavour physics. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute for Subatomic Physics (Nikhef) in the Netherlands. His main research interest include mainly the physics of B-mesons as well as collider phenomenology.

Our Understanding of the subatomic world is given in terms of the Standard Model of particle physics (SM). As a matter of fact, the SM is a theory with an amazing predictive power that so far, has passed successfully stringent experimental tests. However, recent measurements in b-quark flavour physics provide hints of Beyond the SM effects, for instance in the transitions b -> c l \bar\nu_l (for l = e, \mu, \tau). Motivated by this results, in this talk we will present an analysis focused on their counterpart b -> u l \bar\nu_l. Our study will be focused mainly in unveiling the potential presence of scalar and pseudoscalar particles manifesting themselves in different leptonic and semileptonic B meson decays.
